ProjectEspoo

Psychosocial Support for Multilingual Older People

The aim is to strengthen the mental health and psychological wellbeing of older people in Espoo and provide easily accessible conversational support in various challenging life situations.

Psychosocial support for multilingual older people

Seniorin Mieli Club

The project includes the Seniorin Mieli Club, which provides free and low-threshold individual and group-based conversational support at the TurvaSatama Mental Health Centre in Tapiola. Support is also available remotely.

The primary implementer is Zhanetta Barkauskas, a solution-focused brief therapist (HPI, 60 ECTS), who holds a Master's degree in Psychology and has experience working with older people.

Who is it for?

The activities are intended for Espoo residents aged 65 and over who experience loneliness, psychological stress, or need conversational support — for both Finnish and foreign-language speakers.
